Still Life I have been the girl In the lavender silk gown I danced here before Lilith and Eve walked Through the lovely garden as Sisters sometimes do. I have worn the cloak Held the sword, the hammer and Changed life with a thought "Come away with me, Sister, to where the demons Glitter hot-blooded." I have known these dreams: My own face among the rest At last beloved. "Will you stay with me, Sister, until the night wind Covers up my eyes?" Yes I have been here, But I learned to walk away And find my own peace. Lilith stayed beside Her friend, children playing near, Singing her sad song. In the end there is Only one truth: it is still Love that does not speak. 11/20/01
