Fox Manor The hedges are a little overgrown, The lawn could use a trim, before my Spike Is shorter than the grass. The telephone Keeps falling off the hook, which I dislike. The windows are stuck shut, and no a/c Makes life a little hot, but I survive; The cracked front porch is cool enough for me, And close to work, so I don't have to drive. I know someday I'll leave to find my dreams, And Spike will be a memory long gone, As you've quite suddenly become, it seems. Still, when I find my own sweet Avalon, I'll think upon this hallowed place, and you, And know that, briefly, I owned Eden, too. 8/7/96
